I dont actually do much during this period of the year since my i dont really have much relative. So after today, i’m quite free.
It have being almost 2 weeks since I last wrote a new post on my blog, so to catch up I will summaries what I did!
1) Went to Party World with Weishan, Yelian and Bun!
2) My first UNISIM class!
Let’s talk about the Party world session; we actually went there because bun got a 10 dollars voucher but the thing is that, the voucher is only for Chinese New Year period! So in the end we still have to pay full price! BUN WHY YOU NEVER CHECK THE DATE?! ITS WRITTEN IN BOLD BLACK WORD!

Ya… suck for us… at least the session was fun! The few things that I learn during the party world session was, Weishan can sing quite well, quite hard to believe that someone as mentally unstable as her can sing so well, must be heaven way of balancing the universe. And the other thing that I learn was that Yelian don’t sing Chinese songs! I never thought that Yelian is the Ang mo pie sia.
And now we can talk about my unisim class! Yup, I took up Multi Media degree! And I took up all the Java programming in my degree for my first year! I will be doing Java Programming for 1 whole year! I will be a Java expert even if I don’t want to.
So after I did a whole day of Java programming at work, I went to school and start to do Java programming again! It’s extremely taxing on my brain! Arhhhhhh. At least I’m pretty sure that I will pass my first year without much problem.

My Project, vb6 email validation
I just remember something that I wanted to do for quite a long time… To paste my vb6 code on my blog!
So my last project, I was asked to code some email sending program. Sound simple enough, and I was able to finish it but I still need to have some kind of validation codes for emails. I manage to find a few but none was enough for my program to run on so I decided to copy and paste from a few different sources and add in my code.

Tuning body
Finally I feel well enough to write my blog again! (A week of OT made me feel very sick indeed)
I didn’t do much last week since my time is mostly taken up by OT , but in the spirit of all thing random, I have decide to randomly write about my knowledge of body wellness. As most of you know, I’m not very sporty nor am I very fit in the first place, so if you found any part of this to be fiction, you can ensure that it is just random stuff that I make up.
OK, so what is body fitness? To me it’s about tuning of our body. Our body is like a Musical Instruments that need to be fine tune from time to time to ensure that it will work properly.
So how do we “tune” our body? By exercising of course! I truly believe that lifting weight although it’s a great way to tone your body; it is not a very effective way to “tune” our body. True “tuning” comes from doing exercise that involves the whole body, working together to achieve one goal. Like swimming, running, basketball and most sport out there that uses your arm, leg, lung and heart.
So what is so great about “tuning”? Well it help you get in shape, and also tuning your body its like doing a simple check up on your body, like if your body are injury in some area, or if you need to see doctor about that back pain you get after u start to jog for 2-3 min. And most important of all it is that it allow your body to get use to the body and make full use of it in case of danger.
So next time when you go to gym, don’t just lift weight, remember to do some running or swimming. It is great to “tune” your body!

Yanglong and Jasmine ROM!
Yesterday was 4.1.09… Which were Elmo birthday and Yanglong and Jasmine ROM! Two celebrations in one day! I didn’t go to Yelian birthday but we did celebrate her birthday a week ago! Here some photo of that day.

Back to our original topic! 4.1.2009 was YL and Jas ROM day! So happy for them two: D
Bun and me was helper 1 and helper 2 so we was told to go early to help with the setup but bun woke up late, and I cant find my belt so I have to waste time to buy another. In the end we manage to arrive at around 1 pm. I will skip on how we got bit lost and then how bun almost did something illegal Muhahahaha!
The first thing that we notice when we arrived was that… This place looks like a Haunt Mansion! Here a picture of the very eerie looking tree!
I was so excited to take photo of a haunted mansion but Bun keep telling me better not then refuse to help me take photo, I was so sad… sad… in the end we only took a few photos. Here is one where we finish setting up the chairs and taking a break.
I was kinda of expecting a lot of stuffs to do and I was not disappointed, in fact I was overwhelm with work!
We basically help them set up the chairs, tables, clean table, sweep the floor, setup banner, cook BBQ and set up the bloody tree lights! I will try to upload more photo of the tree light as soon as I get them. Bloody tree and bloody lantern! They better be grateful of us for the rest of our nature life!

Charles Stross, Glasshouse
This is my First Book review with my broken English and grammar mistake!
First up on my list is GlassHouse by Charles Stross. I read a few books from Charles Stross before and i do give him high remarks so i guess this is why i decided to do my first book review his GlassHouse.
This is what is written at the back of the book.
Its the 27th century; interstellar travel is by teleport gate, and conflicts are fought by network worms that censor refugees’ personalities and target historians. Robin is a civilian now-demobilised following a civil war-but someone wants him dead because of something his earlier self knew.
Feel from his ruthless pursuer, he volunteers to participate in a unique experimental polity, the Glasshouse. It seems the ideal hiding place for a posthuman on the run, but in this escape-proof environment Robin will undergo even more radical change, placing him at the mercy of the experimenters – and of his own unbalanced psyche.
Glasshouse is a nice book but it could be so much more! It is set in the 27 century where we have assembly-gates, the ability to back up ourselves, habitats orbiting brown dwarfs, immortality, memory-censoring viruses, multiple-clones of yourself,the freedom to be who and what you want to be (Want to be a four-armed woman? Want to be a blue hermaphrodite centaur with chain-mail hauberk and no pants? ITS ALL POSSIBLE!)
But all we are got was a story about a ’simulation’ that bring the story back to the 21-24 century where they re enact shopping, gossiping, working and a bunch of stuff we are basically doing now….
There is of course more to this story then basic everyday stuff but i wont get into those since its not really S.F for most of the story.. kinda of more like a normal person trying to beat a unfair system with no help from any of the advance technology … a disappointing way to write a S.F story on such a great S.F background…
HAPPY NEW 2009 YEAR!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! May those who send me SMS get salary rise! 
Yup its 2009 in Singapore and I’m writing my blog at 2am! Today was a very fattening yet fun day for me 
Let me recall what happen to me yesterday on New year Eva….
First work, our boss was kind enough to let us take half day! Great! but not really sure why but i was unusually tired… I tried my best i really did but i was not able finish most of my work… but i dun really care cause… WORK IS NEVER DONE! ENDLESS WORK PILE!
After work i went to meet with Yang long, Jas and bun to get Yang long and Jas invite card to their ROM! CONGRATS TO YOU TWO! May you two live happily ever after! Oh and Jas finally gave me my birthday gift from last year haha, a casino watch!
At around 7 we parted with Yanglong and Jas as we were meeting up with Elmo and Miss.Pigeon.flyer (Weishan!) to have sushi but Weishan fly our pigeons again…. WEISHAN PIGEON FLYER! yet we forgave you, for we knew that you were hard at work and counting down at your Tuas office.
Sushi was great but the waitress there keep forgetting our salmon sushi! We ordered 3 of those yet only got 1! Think we only manage to finish 20++ plates…. i blame bun and his tofu…. Who go to a sushi shop and eat 3 plate of tofu?!
At around 2230 we decided that its time for us to go find a spot to watch the 0000 New Year Fire Work! but as its 2230 so… we have to wait 1 and an half hour before the fire work start. And so we begin our wait… which was getting to be quite annoying as a lot of people started to crowd around the area. Lucky Elmo came prepare! She brought some newspaper which we can sit on! I was soooo happy that she came with us
So we sat on the ground and continue on our wait…. and wait.. and wait… ya.. we waited like quite long and its getting very very hot with all the people around us… Bun and Elmo started to play bolt and one penguin game on bun Iphone which manage to kill around 30 min of our time.
After that Elmo actually told bun to bring Uno! YES! another save from Elmo! Think we have to go out with Elmo more! WE LOVE U ELMO!
So we played Uno with Elmo on New year Eva on a very crowded area!
We play a few rounds of uno… quite fun wor. but i keep losing ~.~ so i thought up a poem for Elmo….

The firework! The fire work was… extremely loud and bright! I didnt realize that the firework would be so close to us!
Its was vibrating my body with each doom! it was that loud! I was awe strike by the power and the beauty but kinda of scare too cause i was wondering what would happen if one of the firework mistimed and somehow hit us… The whole thing lasted around 8 minutes. Dun really know if it was worth the wait…. but… THE FIREWORK WAS
GREAT!
After that we started to walk home… the whole marina area was flooded with people! ITS WAS LIKE PEOPLE MOUNTAIN PEOPLE SEA! SERIOUS! People was moving like the sea. so closely packed!
We walk and walk and walk walk till we sweat alot! lucky the MRT wasnt that far. but still took around 20 min walk…
So that was what we did on New Year Eva. Hope to spend another New year with my friend next year. Cheers and stay in touch
Annoying Army sms system
I got an sms today at near 10pm, and to my absolute horror its from NS! And the first thought was.. I”M GETTING RECALL! i panicked! I WAS NOT PREPARE FOR RECALL YET!
My field bag was gathering dust at one corner of the house and the 7 packs that was suppose to be in the field bag was… well its not in the field bag…
After i calm down a bit, i call back to the sms service and a nice lady answer my call. The first thing i said was “Hi, i receive an sms about a recall.” then she go “huh?”… yup she said Huh which was not very ensuring to a guy that just panicked a few min ago.
So i try again. “Hi i just receive a sms from NS sms service about a call up.” then she finally give me an reasonable answer “did it had some 6447 number?” …
Well after that, she told me that i was not getting recall just need to call to that 6447 number and listen to the message… and guess what… MY ICT GETTING PUSH FORWARD! WOHA! I”M GOING TO BE A COMBAT ENGINEER SOONER THEN I THOUGHT! !@#%@#%@#%….
Morning Run on Monday!
This post is about how i manage to wake up at 6am and went out for a run which i consider a achievement for me! I actually ran in the morning before the sun come up! This is one Minor Achievement for me! GO ME!
I found myself waking up at around 0600, actually i did set the alarm at 0545 but somehow i was able to ignore the alarm for 15 mins … yup, 15 min go past while my alarm was screaming near my head! I should list that as a achievement but i don’t think able to sleep in coma like status should be listed as a healthy minor achievement…
Afterward i manage to change into my normal run attire without going back to sleep which is what i consider a Guowei Minor Achievement(GMM)!
Yup after achieving the almost unthinkable which was waking up at 6am and changing into my jogging attire! i was ready to start jogging!
I started my slow jog on my way to the park. and when i reach there i was shock as there were a bunch of uncle there way before me!
Quite shocking considering that i’m jogging in a dimmly lighted park at 6am and it was freezing cold!
so i just start to jog and jog and jog… think at the 5 min mark i was ready to give up already, dont think I’m used to the cold air but i manage to push on!
The question “Why Guowei WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!” keep popping into my head… and my answer to myself? “KEEP RUNNING YOU FAT PIG!”
Well i manage to run at least 10 min(around 1 round the park) before stopping… and man was i beat, never thought that a 10 min slow jog would make me feel like vomiting. Think i need to run more before i can get use to the cold air and the sleepiness…
so… after the run i went back bath get dress, drink a cup of very Extremely Horrible cup of Coffee(EHC) i manage to get my self out of the house and off to work!
Another Achievement recorded! Hope to write more soonnnn.
First minor Achievement
I managed to run 30 min on sat and sunday!
I ran at around 2pm from my house to Jurong which is around 5 bus stop? i dont really know the distance… I should search online but i’m kinda of lazy ~.~ haha
The from trip took me roughly 10 min but the back trip took 20 min, which almost kill me as the sun was blazing hot… well I’m not going to run at 2pm again, not sure how i did it during my army days but i think I’m getting too old to be running like a mad man under the sun.
Hope i will be running more soon.
Guowei First minor Blog!
Finally i had started on my first blog Yup this is my first serious blogging! go me! hahahahahaha.
The reason for me to start a blog? cause I’m very very bored lately, with tons of stuff that i have to do but keep forgetting(I got short term memory loss combo with laziness) and I’m getting old ~.~ wayyy to old to stay at home and play dota everyday so I had decided that enough is enough!
I will get track of what i done, what i’m going to do and post them online! YES THIS IS GUOWEI MINOR ACHIEVEMENT BLOG!
Why isit minor achievement? well lets get real, i’m not really going to solve world hungry or do anything major… sooooo ya… its all minor stuff here.
Oh and i’m going to randomly post emoish stuff, stuff that annoy me and random photo of places and stuff i did. So if you like random and emoish stuff come often and we can share our ideas!
And i will be uploading some photo soon, as soon as i remember to bring my cables back to my sister house…
